BRAND NEW BABY SESSIONS
The first few hours after birth are an dynamic, rich, and emotional experience. Meeting your child for the first time is a rush of hormones and feelings. I absolutely love stepping into that sacred space with a family to capture the bonding and relief and joy.
These sessions, often called "Fresh 48", take place in the first 24-48 hours after birth, in your hospital room, birthing center, or in your home with your new babe.
You'll arrange with me to capture these early hours with your baby weeks or months before your due date, and I'll make sure I keep the 3 weeks before your due date and two weeks after flexible and ready for your call. You're welcome to call me as soon as your baby is born, or wait a few hours to let it all sink in.
All of the photographs on this page were taken right after birth, either in the hospital or birthing center where these babies were born. The photographs are documentary style, and can include your older babies meeting your newborn, or your parents seeing their grandchild for the first time. Or the photos can be simpler than that. Just you and your partner and your baby settling in for some of your first deep snuggles. These images will be rich and meaningful, a portrait of your brand new love, and an honest reflection of those first few hours.

I did this session just an hour or two after the birth in the birth center. The family called me right away, and I rushed over. I got to witness the baby being weighed and foot-printed. I got to see them relaxing into meeting their child. It was remarkable.
