I consider newborn photography to be anything in the first three or four months of a child's life, often called the fourth trimester.  This is something really different from typical newborn photos in a studio.  There's no posing, no wrapping the child, no props.  It's just the mother and babe, spending quiet time together.

Photographing you with your newborn is a way to help you remember not only what this time in your life looks like, but what it feels like in the moment.  An authentic photograph can transport you to another time.  It can bring back the smell of your baby's head, the touch of her feet.  It can bring back the joy, the complex connection and the richness of your feelings.
